YES ! ! ! The flowers are blooming and the weather is warming. SPRING is arriving in Michigan!
It was just a few short months ago and we posted the FIRST SNOW of 1999 page. Now we're ready for spring.
YES, YES, YES!
Our street was planted with flowering trees a few years ago. Every year we look forward to this explosion of white. It comes almost without warning. One day there are a few white buds then, like popcorn in a hot pan, we have mountains of white!
Of course this doesn't last. As quickly as they come the petals will have done their job. Almost like a rememberance of the last snow, the petals fall softly to earth in a shower of fragrant white.
Spring also comes with other surprizes. We don't remember planting those purple flowers, and don't remember seeing them last year, but here they are. Perfectly timed to complement the tulips, the purple makes a backdrop and frame for all the other colors. 
There is ONE OTHER really important thing about Spring:
IT'S TIME TO ROW!
Our girls are both on the Central High Rowing Crew and this is regatta season. YOU GOTTA LOVE IT!
